We are proud to announce that our ASPEN demonstration project is completed, and its results have already been accepted by the European Space Agency (ESA). The smartphone-based pavement data acquisition system developed by Heller Consult is a revolutionary solution for public and private road administrators. It significantly speeds up the fieldwork, reduces hurdles for road infrastructure stakeholders and keeps costs in check for the entire asset management process.
While performing the demonstrators, the Heller Consult team proceeded with five projects in two countries. We provided infrastructure administrators with the data for over 2000 km of roads, bicycle paths and sidewalks pavement conditions. Combing the newly developed system with our 30 years of evidence-based maintenance planning, we can offer affordable tailor-made solutions for any private or public road asset managers.
Although the ASPEN demonstrators are finished, we remain on board with the ESA support. The agency agreed to extend the cooperation with Heller Consult. We aim to develop the diagnostic system further and provide our business partners with new functions shortly.
